S&ME is seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer in Indianapolis to join our team. You will support geotechnical, civil, environmental projects, balancing fieldwork with office analyses and reporting.

You will work with licensed engineers, gain real-world experience, and develop skills through mentorship, training, and diverse project exposure within a supportive, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with intent to pursue PE licensure.
• Passion for Geotechnical solutions with interest in field and analytical work.
• Basic technical writing skills at college level.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation and sample collection.
• Analyze subsurface conditions and support lab testing programs.
• Prepare data tables, figures, and graphical presentations; compare to standards.
• Assist in writing clear, well-organized technical reports.
• Perform construction and environmental inspections and document site conditions.
