Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering (Geotechnical Emphasis) from ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
• Basic geotechnical software skills preferred: Ensoft LPILE, GeoStudio/UTEXAS4, liquefaction analysis software, excavation support and wall design software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field reconnaissance and geological research to evaluate geologic conditions.
• Assist with development of work scopes and subsurface investigation subcontracts.
• Assist with data compilation, boring logs, and subsurface profiles.
• Assist in geotechnical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assist in hazard assessments, settlement, slope stability analyses, and earthwork.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents.
• Support client presentations and contract administration.
• Perform geotechnical construction observation.
• Contribute to policies and standards compliance.
