Job summary

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (PE or PE Eligible) in our Chicago office to support geotechnical engineering practice. The role focuses on project budget/schedule oversight, field and lab testing, and leadership of project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a pertinent engineering degree, PE or EIT credentials, and 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment, capable of delivering timely, accurate geotechnical reports and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Pertinent Engineering degree required.
• Professional Civil Engineer Certification (PE) or EIT required.
• 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous, complex, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical engineering project budgets and schedules.
• Supervise field and laboratory sampling and testing.
• Perform field and laboratory work as needed.
• Train staff level personnel.
• Contract projects with vendors and clients.
• Lead construction materials testing projects.
• Review geotechnical reports and lab/field data for accuracy.
• Ensure on-time report delivery and respond to RFIs.
