Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a staff Geotechnical Engineer in Overland Park, KS. You will develop geotechnical design materials for heavy civil projects, perform analyses and prepare technical reports, and coordinate field investigations to ensure project requirements are met.

You will coordinate geotechnical field work, observe construction activities, and document progress. Travel within field assignments is expected and work may be hybrid after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience with geotechnical investigations, grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, and retaining walls.
• Prefer Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with Emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Active Engineering‑In‑Training (EIT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop design materials for project assignments for heavy civil works such as generation, power infrastructure, solar, wind, dams, tunnels, and pipelines.
• Perform analysis, design calculations, design sketches, and prepare geotechnical design reports to meet project requirements.
• Perform, coordinate, and manage geotechnical field investigations.
• Coordinate, manage, observe, and document geotechnical construction activities such as grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, retaining walls.
