Job summary

Black & Veatch, an employee-owned company, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join multi-disciplinary teams in Overland Park, KS. You will develop design materials, perform analyses and manage field investigations for diverse projects including power, water, and infrastructure.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of experience; a PE license or active pursuit is preferred. Hybrid work options are available after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability and willingness to meet pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, etc.).
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal teams and resources while understanding client interests and needs.
• Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details for geotechnical projects.
• Plan, design, and oversee geotechnical aspects for projects in office and field.
• Travel to local and regional client sites as required (field time up to 60%).
