Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation in Overland Park, KS is offering a Summer Geotechnical Engineer Intern role designed to give hands-on experience in real projects across geotechnical design, foundations, and site work.

You will work with project teams, develop basic engineering calculations, and learn design tools while supporting a broad range of tasks from reading design guides to assisting with schedules and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• No experience required; current enrollment in ABET accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Focus on Structural, Environmental, Transportation or Geotechnical areas is preferred.
• Strong academic performance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develops familiarity with design guides, standards, and BV policies.
• Provide geotechnical design support for foundations, slopes, and drainage.
• Assist with analysis and design of foundations and retaining structures.
• Participate in project coordination meetings with project teams.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods.
