Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Geotechnical engineer to join our Syracuse, New York team. You will perform field explorations, design shallow and deep foundations, and develop geotechnical reports to support projects across North America.

The role requires advanced civil engineering degrees, willingness to travel, strong communication, and proficiency with PLAXIS/FLAC, CADD, and MS Office. We offer a hybrid work policy, a competitive salary, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering required.
Significant years of experience on geotechnical projects.
Willingness and flexibility to travel for work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in CADD and Microsoft Office.
Driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations.
Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures, deep and shallow foundations.
Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles.
Design of shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures.
Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses.
Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and FLAC.
Develop geotechnical reports.
Perform Pavement Design and develop Pavement Reports.
Design Ground Improvement including deep soil mixing, rigid inclusions, chemical.
Develop Contract documents including drawings and specifications.
Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America.
Meet project deadlines with dependable attitude.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills.
