Job summary

Langan is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its collaborative team in Arlington, VA. This role will support planning and execution of field investigations, monitor earthwork construction, and assist in geotechnical reports for large projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with 1+ year of experience and an EIT/FE. US citizenship is required for federal work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required.
• 1+ years of related work experience.
• EIT certification or FE exam registration.
• US citizenship due to government projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction; monitor conformance with the construction documents.
• Identify and implement solutions to routine and complex field/lab problems.
• Prepare logs and field forms (drilling/test pit logs, field dailies, and chain of custody logs).
• Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches.
• Accurately communicate with supervisor about problems on project sites.
• Perform other duties as requested.
