Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer/Associate in Atlanta to inspect, analyze, and evaluate geotechnical systems and to prepare repair/mitigation concepts as part of the Civil & Structural Engineering practice. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver technically sound solutions.

The role emphasizes field investigations, analyses, and collaboration with clients while pursuing PE licensure and career growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering or MS in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering with 5 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain Professional Engineer licensure in 4 years.
• Degrees, experience or related coursework in Geology/Geological Engineering, GIS, Groundwater/Surface Water Hydrology or Structural Engineering a strong plus.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and potential to develop successful client relations.
• Attention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently or support multiple group projects and to interact with other engineers, administrative staff, and clients.
• Ability to gather information from field investigations, document reviews, and interviews and to synthesize and convey technical conclusions to non-specialists.
• Knowledge of geotechnical modeling software, graphing software, GIS, and imaging software a strong plus.
