You will gain experience preparing roadway/bridge plans, evaluating foundations, and supporting design teams, with opportunities for FE exam preparation and PE licensure in the future.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, environmental, or transportation engineering or related field.
- EIT certification required; PE licensure expected within 6 years of hire.
- Willingness to travel and work in field conditions, sometimes in rugged terrain.
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical engineering work for roadway and bridge plans.
- Assist with emergency response projects within the geotechnical scope.
- Evaluate foundation support for bridges, culverts, and drainage structures and prepare design recommendations.
- Inspect soils and foundation-related issues during construction and suggest practical solutions.
- Support design teams to meet roadway design objectives related to subgrades and grading.
