Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical field investigations including soil sampling and borehole drilling
- Perform laboratory testing on soil, aggregates, and related materials
- Analyze field and lab data to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions
- Assess subsurface conditions to support foundation and construction design
- Prepare clear, accurate geotechnical reports and technical documentation
- Operate and maintain testing equipment, including nuclear density gauges
- Ensure testing and reporting meet project specifications and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with engineers, construction teams, and clients to communicate findings
- Review reports for accuracy and provide corrections when necessary
- Mentor junior staff and support project teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- 5+ years of geotechnical or environmental field experience
- E.I.T. or P.E. license preferred
- Strong knowledge of soil classification, sampling, and laboratory testing
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites
