Job summary

HDR is seeking a geotechnical engineer to plan and manage investigations that impact major water-related programs across the Midwest. You will analyze data, prepare reports, and work with designers to implement recommendations.

You will lead teams on large-scale projects, collaborate with clients, and be willing to travel to support project needs. HDR values employee ownership and a culture of excellence in public works.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation or other software as appropriate.
  • Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage and deep foundation response software, as appropriate.
  • Experience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog).
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.

  • Organize, conduct, coordinate, and/or manage geotechnical investigations for water and other related projects.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, prepare geotechnical reports, and coordinate with designers to implement recommendations.
  • Function as a Technical Specialist on large-scale projects as needed.
  • Supervise professionals, technicians, and design teams as needed.
  • Demonstrate willingness to travel and occasionally adjust personal schedule to meet project requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Minnesota: $80,262 - $114,660
