Job summary

GeoWorld is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join our Water Business Group in Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have a Professional Engineering license and experience with critical analysis and design activities that impact major company programs. This role requires coordination of geotechnical investigations and the ability to work with design teams to implement recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Professional engineering license recognized for the location.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation or similar software.
  • Familiarity with GeoStudio/Ensoft software for geotechnical analysis.
  • Experience with Bentley suite data management software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations.
  • Organize and manage geotechnical investigations for water projects.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and coordinate with designers.
  • Supervise professionals and technicians as needed.

Skills

Professional engineering license

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations and design activities with significant impact on major company programs
  • Participate in marketing efforts with both internal and external clients
  • Organize, conduct, coordinate, and/or manage geotechnical investigations for water and other related projects
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, prepare geotechnical reports, and coordinate with designers to implement recommendations
  • Function as a Technical Specialist on large‑scale projects as needed
  • Supervise professionals, technicians, and design teams as needed
  • Demonstrate willingness to travel and occasionally adjust personal schedule to meet project requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation or other software as appropriate
  • Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage and deep foundation response software, as appropriate
  • Experience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog)
