Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates in Woodbine, MD is seeking a Geotechnical Driller Helper. The role requires understanding geotechnical drill rig operations; on-the-job training available.

You’ll work with Hollow Stem Auger, Casing Advance, Mud Rotary, and sampling methods, with projects in MD and DE. This position offers a starting rate of $20–$24 per hour, a company vehicle, benefits, ESOP participation, and opportunities for hands-on skills growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic, team player, reliable.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
• Must be willing to work out of town when needed.
• Company-provided training and mentoring will help you expand skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist geotechnical drill rig operations and drilling techniques.
• Produce daily reports and boring logs.
• Maintain and operate drill equipment and company vehicle as assigned.
• Coordinate with site leadership to ensure safety and schedules are met.
• Support field crew on MD and DE projects and travel as needed.
