Job summary

Connelly and Associates in Frederick, MD is seeking hardworking individuals to join our geotechnical/geothermal drilling team as Driller Helper. You will assist the lead driller, maintain site safety, and help collect geological samples while supporting routine equipment maintenance.

This role offers overtime opportunities and on-the-job training, with a strong emphasis on safety, environmental regulations, and responsible field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of safety regulations and field operations.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
• Valid driver's license + good driving record
• Willingness to work overtime
• Pass initial and random drug screens, initial agility test & DOT medical exam
• Willngness to submit for background check and MVR

Responsibilities

• Support the lead driller in operating drilling machinery, including managing drill rods, pipes, and other tools.
• Monitor drilling fluid levels and assist in mixing and handling drilling muds and additives as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the drilling site to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Help collect and document geological samples and drilling data accurately for further analysis.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
