Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates seeks a Geotechnical Driller for our Woodbine, MD office. You will operate geotechnical drilling rigs, perform Hollow Stem Auger and related sampling, and maintain daily reports and logs.

The role requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and adherence to safety standards. The company offers a competitive starting rate of $26–$36 per hour based on experience, plus a $400 sign-on bonus and potential year-end incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pre-employment requirements may apply.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, responsible and reliable.
• Maintain and clean company vehicle, drill rig, and equipment.
• Coordinate with site leadership to meet scope and schedule while following safety standards.
• CDL Class A or B preferred but not required.
• Produce daily reports and boring logs.
• Company training and mentoring to expand skills and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate geotechnical drill rig and perform Hollow Stem Auger, casing advance, mud rotary drilling, and sampling as directed.
• Produce daily reports and boring logs for each site.
• Work with site leadership to ensure on-time completion and safety compliance.
