Job summary

BFW is seeking a Geotechnical Driller Assistant for our Paducah, Kentucky location. The role involves assisting the lead driller with drilling operations, field data collection, and adhering to safety practices while supporting geotechnical testing and site investigations.

Candidates must be able to lift 80+ lbs, travel as needed, and work outdoors in varying conditions. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental/vision, life, disability, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and heavy equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License required (CDL preferred).
• Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
• Must be able to lift 80+ lbs and perform labor-intensive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work with the lead driller in moving, setting up, operating and maintaining drilling rigs and related equipment used to drill holes for geotechnical testing to determine site soil characteristics.
• Help the driller with the collection of data and samples in the field under direction of the crew chief.
• Promote and adhere to safe work practices for self, the lead driller, and others.
• Complete daily reports of drilling and driving activities.
