Job summary

Terracon is seeking Exploration Team Members (ETMs) to perform subsurface exploration using conventional drilling and in-situ testing techniques across regional projects. Duties include preparing field forms and paperwork, and working in a multi-person drilling team.

Essential tasks include operating drill rigs, installing monitoring wells, and training junior staff while following safety standards. A high school diploma and 5+ years of drilling experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of field drilling experience.
• Proficient in geotechnical and/or environmental drilling methods.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Operate a geotechnical drill rig to advance boreholes to required depths.
• Lead a 2-3 person drill crew and support their development.
• Install instrumentation and monitoring wells.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drilling equipment.
• Survey, site reconnaissance, and utility clearance tasks.
• Drive drilling equipment to project locations.
• Inspect and complete routine maintenance of equipment.
• Support project preparation and pre-task planning.
• Train junior staff in drilling methods.
• Follow safety rules and report safety concerns to management.
