Job summary

CTL Engineering in Akron/Brunswick, OH seeks a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer and Geotech Department Manager to lead our geotechnical team. You will perform explorations, supervise lab work, develop reports, and manage projects across northern Ohio, with limited travel.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of consulting engineering experience on civil projects.
• PE credentialing is required.
• BS in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is a plus.
• Willingness to travel and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation.
• Train and supervise lab technicians; maintain QA/QC and equipment inventory.
• Develop and review lab testing assignments and results for content and accuracy.
• Oversee the northern OH region as Department Manager, including operations, scheduling, and P&L.
• Assist in preparing proposals and interfacing with clients on technical aspects.
• Coordinate subsurface investigations and project design plans.
