Job summary

Stantec is offering an Intern/Co-op position in Chattanooga, TN, focused on geotechnical and water infrastructure projects. You will assist with explorations, reports, data analysis, and basic CAD tasks while gaining exposure to fieldwork and design activities.

The role suits students pursuing a civil engineering degree with an interest in geotechnical geology and water projects, offering hands-on experience with municipalities, utilities, and government clients.

Qualifications

• In progress toward earning a bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil engineering or related field
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
• Willingness to learn and contribute to projects

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations
• Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
• Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects
• Perform modeling and design activities on a variety of water infrastructure projects
• Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data
• Assist engineers in executing geotechnical analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards, as it relates to design and construction phases of the project
• Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in CAD and other design programs
• Performing construction observations and assisting with geotechnical field work, as needed
• Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required
