Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician I to support geotechnical, construction materials testing, and environmental projects. You will prepare samples, operate testing equipment, and maintain records to ensure accurate results for infrastructure projects.

The role requires following ASTM/AASHTO standards, safety protocols, and effective communication with engineers and field staff. Position is onsite with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical coursework in engineering, geology, construction science, or a related field preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical laboratory work, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing on construction materials following ASTM, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
• Ensure project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications and company policies.
• Accurately document and report test results with detailed records.
• Assist with sample preparation, handling, and proper storage.
• Operate laboratory testing equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and use of PPE.
• Communicate updates on test results and sample status to supervisors and field personnel.
• Support the laboratory team and project managers as needed.
