Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotech Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic geotechnical team on transmission lines, substations, renewable energy, and related projects. You will oversee investigations, design work, and reporting while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.

You will coordinate field and lab testing, manage budgets and schedules, and communicate progress to clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering from an ABET-accredited college; PE preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience in geotechnical projects.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and report writing.
• Experience supervising and mentoring geotechnical staff.
• Ability to travel and work outdoors in varying field conditions.
• Strong communication skills with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for geotechnical investigations and design work.
• Lead geotechnical site investigations, lab testing coordination, data analysis, and report preparation.
• Interpret data to classify materials and assess bearing capacity, settlement, and slope stability.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and invoicing; oversee staff.
• Support business development and client relations.
• Develop and update design standards, processes, and training content.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team culture.
• Coordinate field and laboratory testing and QA/QC procedures.
