Job summary

Schnabel, a national specialty contractor, seeks a Project Engineer to support geostructural construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will work with project managers, foremen, estimators, and clients to coordinate plans, budgets, and field execution.

This hands-on role requires reading drawings, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safety and schedule adherence. A Bachelor’s in civil/related field and 1 year construction experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field is required.
• 1 year of experience in a Construction Management or Engineering role or internship with construction firm supported by references.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans, define scope, set timelines, and allocate resources.
• Manage project costs, track expenses, and ensure adherence to the budget.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to plan and execute projects effectively.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Assist with technical problem-solving in the field; provide engineering support throughout a project's lifecycle.
• Help enforce safety protocols and conduct site safety audits in coordination with the safety department.
• Help maintain positive relationships by addressing concerns and providing updates.
