Job summary

Amazon in Bellevue is seeking a Software Development Manager for the Transit Intelligence group. You will lead a team responsible for road network construction, pathfinding, and transit time estimation at massive scale, integrating real‑time traffic with historical models to optimize safety and speed.

This leverage spans Last Mile and beyond. You will own technical strategy, drive precomputation and graph representations, and coordinate with Planning, Safety, and Science teams to maintain high

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers responsible for road network construction, vending, pathfinding, and transit time estimation for Amazon Last Mile.
• Partner with Planning systems teams solving the Traveling Salesman Problem at high throughput and own API contracts and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Safety teams on routing and path‑risk accuracy; work with Science teams on models behind time estimation.
• Own transit time estimation quality end to end, including planned‑versus‑actual analysis and long‑term roadmap management.
• Develop engineering talent and build a deep, resilient team with clear technical ownership.
• Write narratives and influence VP‑level technical decisions.
