Job summary
DEFTEC is seeking a GIS Analyst to develop, maintain, and support geospatial databases, applications, and tools supporting architectural, engineering, and base management practices.
The role involves creating and revising maps, digitizing data, and using GIS to analyze geology, ecology, and demographics for Air Force Base planning. Requires associate degree or 2+ years in a technical field with geospatial knowledge; SDTS/FGDC standards experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Must have either an associate's degree in science or 2+ years of experience in a technical field with geospatial knowledge.
- Knowledge of digital geospatial processes and standards such as SDS/SDTS and FGDC standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support geospatial databases, applications, and tools for base management practices.
- Create and revise maps, charts, and cartographic products from source materials and aerial imagery.
- Analyze geographic data to support decisions related to geology, ecology, land use, demographics, transportation, etc., for Air Force Base plans.
- Update and implement CADD/GIS data and advise on techniques and tools for solving geospatial problems.
