Job summary

DEFTEC Corporation seeks a GIS Analyst to serve as the installation's geospatial data specialist, developing and maintaining databases, applications, and tools for base management and engineering. You will draft, digitize, and edit geospatial data and support decisions on geology, ecology, and land use.

The role requires an associate degree in science or 2+ years of technical experience, with knowledge of geospatial concepts, SDTS, and FGDC standards.

Qualifications

• Must have either an associate's degree in science or at least 2 years of experience in a technical field and possess geospatial knowledge.
• Knowledge of SDTS and FGDC standards.
• Ability to plan and implement mapping systems for installation organizations.
• Ability to review facility management systems and teach geospatial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support geospatial databases, applications, and tools for architectural, engineering, and base management practices.
• Create and revise maps, charts, and cartographic products from source materials and aerial photographs.
• Use computerized systems to analyze geographic data supporting decisions on geology, ecology, land use, demographics, and transportation.
• Coordinate and implement CADD/GIS data and advise on techniques for solving CADD/GIS-related problems.
