Job summary

Topographic, Inc. is seeking a Geospatial Party Chief to lead mapping missions using drones, LiDAR, and aerial photogrammetry. The role involves data acquisition in the field and post-processing 3D data for deliverables, working closely with pilots, technicians, and RPLS professionals.

Ideal candidates will have proficiency with survey equipment, geospatial software, and strong leadership and communication skills. Travel to projects and adherence to safety standards are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with all required survey equipment.
• Understanding of mid-level math concepts.
• Knowledge of land boundary retracement and ALTA surveys.
• Introductory knowledge of geospatial software tools (Trimble, MicroStation, Civil3D, Pix4D).
• Familiarity with state plane coordinate systems and geodetic calculations.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Acquire airborne, mobile, and terrestrial data using remote sensing systems.
• Troubleshoot and prepare equipment for field operations.
• Perform classification and mapping from processed LIDAR data.
• Extract 3D and planimetric information and generate CAD mapping for delivery.
• Manage field crew and resources, including time sheets and data logs.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE compliance in the field.
• Coordinate daily communications with supervisors and project managers.
