Job summary

Niyam IT seeks a Geospatial Developer to support a nationwide NEXRAD-related program. You will design, code, and maintain geospatial data pipelines, dashboards, and web apps, turning spectrum and site data into decision-ready products. Fully remote with minimal travel.

Required are 4+ years in geospatial software, Python expertise, and experience with ArcGIS or open-source stacks, PostGIS, and Git. U.S. citizenship is required for this federal-facing role.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, GIS/Geospatial Science, or related field; experience may substitute.
• 4+ years of software development experience, with geospatial app development or data engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and geospatial libraries/APIs (ArcGIS API for Python, GeoPandas, GDAL/OGR, Shapely).
• Experience building web mapping apps with Esri or open-source stacks.
• Experience with spatial databases (PostGIS) and automated ETL/data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git and modern dev/deploy practices.
• Knowledge of CUI handling requirements.
• Occasional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the software components of the geospatial architecture, including data models, ingestion pipelines, and services.
• Build Esri/open-source geospatial web apps and dashboards for visualization of incumbents, interference indicators, 300 km extents, and site viability.
• Develop automated geospatial export and report-generation workflows at scale.
• Implement automated propagation, LOS, and beam-blockage analysis with spectrum engineering teams.
• Integrate diverse geospatial and spectrum data sources via repeatable pipelines.
• Support ingestion of field data, imagery, and frequency data into the master database and dashboard.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and deploy in Esri/cloud environments; ensure CUI compliance.
