Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Geospatial Engineer to extract and supply geographic data that supports military operations and helps commanders visualize the battlefield during combat.

You will create geographic data and maps, maintain geospatial databases, and prepare military-style briefs on terrain. Training will develop GIS basics, imagery interpretation, and 2-D/3-D geospatial products, with opportunities to apply skills in civilian careers.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements per NATIONALGUARD.com.

Responsibilities

• Create geographic data and compile them into maps.
• Create and maintain geospatial databases.
• Prepare military-style briefs covering terrain aspects.
