Job summary
The Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant II to support an NIH-funded R01 project in the Center for Precision Environmental Health. You will assist with geospatial data processing, data curation, and manuscript preparation.
Onsite only in Houston, TX; duties include data management, QA/QC, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams to advance environmental health research.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field (preferred).
- Experience with R, Python, or similar tools.
- Experience with GIS or geospatial data processing.
- Familiarity with environmental health or population health research.
Responsibilities
- Use R and GIS to generate geospatial predictor datasets for air pollution models.
- Use HPC resources for large dataset processing.
- Perform GIS analyses, including geocoding and spatial joins.
- Assist with cleaning administrative health datasets from DSHS.
- Perform QA/QC to identify missing or erroneous data.
- Maintain research databases, data dictionaries, and documentation.
- Assist with preparation of tables, figures, and supplementary materials.
- Review and proofreading of manuscripts, abstracts, and reports.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
