Job summary
cFocus Software Incorporated in Washington, DC seeks a Jr. Cartographer with 1+ year experience in cartographic design and geospatial production to support mapping products for RFQ missions. The candidate will apply advanced cartographic principles, GIS software expertise, and attention to detail to meet the mission requirements outlined in the RFQ.
The Jr. Cartographer will work collaboratively with geospatial analysts, data scientists, and program stakeholders to deliver authoritative mapping
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cartography, Geography, GIS, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 1+ years of professional experience in cartography, GIS, or geospatial visualization.
- 5+ years of experience required without a degree.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Esri ArcGIS software suite and geospatial data formats.
- Experience in cartographic design principles, symbolization, and visualization techniques.
- Strong skills in map production, QA/QC, and metadata documentation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Map design, production, and maintenance of cartographic products.
- Integrate geospatial data from satellite imagery, LiDAR, and vectors.
- Support metadata development and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to meet mission needs.
