Job summary

Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA) is offering a part-time entry-level Planning Technician role tied to the Work+ program. You will collect GIS data, support asset management for bus stop signs and ITS equipment, and build GIS dashboards while gaining foundational transit industry experience.

You will work at least 20 hours per week, enroll in 12 credit hours, and have access to educational support as you learn to apply geospatial analyses to understand ridership patterns.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree at Miami University; GIS coursework preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ESRI ArcGIS software.
• Strong analytical and data collection skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect location data using GIS; create dashboards and maps.
• Install, maintain and document ITS assets and signage as directed.
• Perform field surveys to collect ridership data and analyze results.
• Provide basic support in the field and office; adapt to evolving tech.
• Assist in special projects and maintain accurate records.
