Job summary

JobTailor in Washington, DC seeks an experienced geospatial software engineer to develop and maintain enterprise GIS applications, dashboards, and APIs. You will work on ArcGIS Enterprise/Server integration, data visualization, and workflows while aligning with DHS IT requirements.

The role includes testing, deployment, documentation, and user support, with strong emphasis on independence and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (CS, GIS, Geography, IT, Engineering)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Experience developing applications with UIs, workflows, and APIs
• Proficiency with Python, C++, JavaScript, C#, .NET or similar
• Experience supporting geospatial solutions development/maintenance
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Server
• Experience building web apps, dashboards, workflows, or APIs
• Experience geospatial data management and GIS workflows
• Experience troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining enterprise apps
• Knowledge of web services, APIs, and integration principles
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and juggle priorities

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise geospatial applications, UIs, workflows, and APIs
• Support development and maintenance of geospatial solutions
• Develop web‑based GIS apps, dashboards, and integration workflows
• Support ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, and related services
• Develop apps for geospatial data visualization, analysis, and management
• Integrate geospatial apps with enterprise systems and data platforms
• Collaborate with IT, security, data, and program teams to meet DHS IT requirements
• Participate in testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, deployment, and maintenance
• Develop and maintain technical docs, specs, and user guides
• Support cybersecurity, RBAC, and privacy in development activities
• Support development, testing, prod, and ops environments
• Assist with user support, training, and issue resolution
