Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Geoscientist to join their exploration and production team in Queenstown, MD. The role focuses on interpreting geological data and guiding exploration strategies, collaborating with geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to maximize resource recovery and efficiency.

The position requires a Master's degree in Geology/Geophysics and at least 5 years of experience in exploration geology or reservoir characterization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in exploration geology or reservoir characterization in energy sector.
• Proficiency in geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) for data interpretation and modeling.
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Experience with seismic interpretation and well log analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze seismic, well log, and core data to interpret subsurface geology and identify hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Develop and refine geological models and maps to guide exploration and appraisal activities.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to integrate seismic interpretations and constrain geological models.
• Assess reservoir potential, estimate resource volumes, and provide input for field development planning.
• Work closely with drilling and production engineers to ensure well placement and operational success.
• Stay current with advancements in geoscience technologies and methodologies.
