Job summary

Cornerstone Government Affairs is seeking interns to assist the State Government Affairs team at the Georgia Capitol during the 2027 Legislative Session. The role offers hands-on experience in state lobbying, stakeholder engagement, and policy processes. Dates run January 5, 2027 through April 30, 2027 (flexible).

Hours are 20-25 per week (part-time). Applicants should be a junior or higher in a bachelor’s program or pursuing graduate studies, with strong communication and organizational skills

POSITION OVERVIEW

Cornerstone Government Affairs is looking for Intern Candidates to assist our State Government Affairs team at the Georgia Capitol during the 2027 Legislative Session. Interns will have the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in state lobbying efforts and knowledge of key stakeholders and issues of importance in the state of Georgia.

• Dates: January 5, 2027, through April 30, 2027 (flexible on actual start and end dates)
• Required Hours: 20-25 hours per week (part-time)
• Requirements: Third-year level student or higher in a bachelor's degree program; or graduate studies
• The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Candidates should have the ability to discern, identify, and provide the appropriate level of information to stakeholders and hold a deep interest in politics and the legislative process. Exceptional candidates will have a proven track record of strong relationship‑building skills and be positive and proactive while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OFFERINGS

Cornerstone will reimburse parking and expenses incurred directly related to Cornerstone's business performance. Academic credit can be arranged upon agreement and documentation by the sponsoring institution. In addition, Interns are paid $18.40 per hour.
