Job summary

BETA Technologies in Vermont seeks a Software Engineer with strong computational geometry to turn geometry into validated manufacturing outputs for aluminum tooling and composites tooling. You will work at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, CAD/CAM, tooling, and software to drive automation and a reduction in engineering cycle time.

The role involves integrating geometry workflows across CAD, CAM, CNC, and manufacturing systems, plus time on the factory floor to align digital models

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software-engineering background with production-grade software.
• Ability to take ambiguous technical problems from concept to deployment.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with physics/engineering constraints.
• Clear communication and collaboration with subject‑matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Develop software that imports, analyzes, transforms, and generates complex 3D CAD geometry.
• Generate and validate production tooling geometry including tool surfaces and trim definitions.
• Develop automated manufacturability checks identifying geometry and tooling risks.
• Create internal tools to reduce manual effort and improve design consistency.
• Integrate geometry-processing workflows with CAD, CAM, CNC, and manufacturing systems.
• Spend time in factory to understand software outputs in real use.
