Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer specialized in Geomechanics to advance technology development for oil and gas applications. The role is based at the ExxonMobil Campus in Spring, Texas, and requires strong numerical modeling and data integration skills.

You will lead research initiatives, collaborate with colleagues and external partners, and develop tools to support completions, injection, production, and reservoir management.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical, Civil, or Engineering Mechanics.
• Experience with numerical methods in geomechanical modeling, including FEM.
• Strong oral/written communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Outstanding communication, strong work ethic, and solid project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform state-of-the-art geomechanics research with numerical modeling and data integration.
• Develop workflows and advance understanding of subsurface mechanical behavior.
• Create and implement new tools, procedures, and software solutions.
• Adapt geomechanics technologies into operational workflows for completions, injection, production, and reservoir management.
• Lead research initiatives through effective planning, collaboration, and leadership.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports for internal leadership and external audiences.
• Collaborate with Global Business Line, academia, and other ExxonMobil groups.
