Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, seeks a full-time Geology faculty member in the Natural Sciences and Engineering (NSE) area to begin January 2027. You will teach introductory geology lecture and laboratory courses for students seeking GE credits or transferring to four-year programs.

Responsibilities include classroom, lab, and field instruction; curriculum development; advising; committee work; and instructional technology.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree in Geology or closely related geoscience field.
• Demonstrated college-level teaching experience.
• Experience designing and/or setting up hands-on laboratory activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Teach geology lecture and laboratory courses (min 30 semester hours/year).
• Deliver courses in face-to-face, online, hybrid, or blended formats.
• Design, implement, and assess courses; contribute to curriculum development.
• Advise, tutor, and mentor students; support transfer opportunities.
• Plan field experiences, ensure student safety, and manage lab activities.
