Job summary

Rio Tinto Exploration is offering a 3-month Geology / Exploration Internship based in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will work alongside experienced geologists on active mineral exploration projects across the United States and gain hands-on experience with field mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis.

We welcome students pursuing Geology/Geoscience, with strong teamwork and communication skills, a safety mindset, and the ability to work both in the field and office.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered student at a recognized American university.
• One year of coursework completed in Geology/Geoscience or a related degree.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to field geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis.
• Collaborate with the Exploration team on greenfields projects across the United States.
