Job summary

Sawtooth Mining is seeking a technically skilled Geologist to join the Thacker Pass Lithium project in Nevada as we move from a greenfield stage to operation. You will plan and lead ore-control drilling, interpret results, and integrate findings into short-range models for efficient mining.

The role requires experience in lithium geology, QA/QC, and strong collaboration with operations and environmental teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology with 5–10 years of experience in exploration drilling, geological block modeling, and ore control at a surface mining operation.
• Master’s degree in Geology and Professional Geologist designation are preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to Winnemucca, NV or currently based there, with relocation assistance provided.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geologic data and provide structure and assay information.
• Monitor drilling permits and protection of reserves.
• Supervise contractors during geologic drilling and related projects.
• Collect and analyze geotechnical data.
• Maintain geologic files, QA/QC data, databases, and samples.
• Update short-range geological, structural, and block models for mine planning.
• Lead Ore Control efforts and track reconciliation.
