Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geologist II to assist in geologic and hydrologic studies and contaminated site remediation across client projects in the United States. Primary Location: United States – Texas – Austin; Other Locations: United States – Louisiana – Baton Rouge; United States – Texas – Houston. Schedule: Full‑time.

Employee Status: Regular. Responsibilities include field work, sampling, well installation, data analysis, and preparing service deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Prior field work experience.
  • Experience with well installation techniques, groundwater and soil sampling procedures and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions.
  • Travel may be required.

Job Summary

  • Assist with geologic and hydrologic studies, including field work, and other hydrologic, geologic, geophysical tasks both locally and nationally;
  • Assist with contaminated site remediation tasks;
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of service deliverable documents;
  • Perform assignments requiring application of moderately complex objectives and limited variables;
  • Work independently on medium‑size projects or assist more‑senior scientists on larger projects;
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
