Responsibilities of the Senior Geologist include:
- Lead complex site investigations focusing on contaminated sediment and waterways;
- Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation, including:
- Developing site investigation work plans;
- Building complex Conceptual Site Models;
- Developing high-resolution site characterization strategies;
- Sampling soil, sediment, and groundwater, and collecting quality data;
- Creating geologic cross-sections using geologic and geophysical data;
- Performing geospatial and geostatistical analysis;
- Conducting isotope analysis;
- Interpreting subsurface geologic conditions regionally and locally;
- Preparing graphic presentations of geologic data;
- Leading report development for investigations and remedial actions.
Assess environmental contamination, focusing on management and remediation;
Serve as a technical expert in your area of specialization;
Manage projects, mentor junior staff, review technical work;
Prepare reports and proposals, manage scopes, budgets, schedules;
Engage with clients and deliver presentations;
Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sediment or dredging contaminated materials management;
- Experience with sediment remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial designs;
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification;
- Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology, or related field;
- At least 10 years of experience in marketing, project management, staff management, and client satisfaction, with business development skills and local market familiarity;
- Advanced degree may offset experience requirements;
- Experience with field work;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Self-motivated, leadership skills, team management ability;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to travel as needed;
