Responsibilities of the Senior Geologist include:
  1. Lead complex site investigations focusing on contaminated sediment and waterways;
  2. Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation, including:
  • Developing site investigation work plans;
  • Building complex Conceptual Site Models;
  • Developing high-resolution site characterization strategies;
  • Sampling soil, sediment, and groundwater, and collecting quality data;
  • Creating geologic cross-sections using geologic and geophysical data;
  • Performing geospatial and geostatistical analysis;
  • Conducting isotope analysis;
  • Interpreting subsurface geologic conditions regionally and locally;
  • Preparing graphic presentations of geologic data;
  • Leading report development for investigations and remedial actions.
  • Assess environmental contamination, focusing on management and remediation;
  • Serve as a technical expert in your area of specialization;
  • Manage projects, mentor junior staff, review technical work;
  • Prepare reports and proposals, manage scopes, budgets, schedules;
  • Engage with clients and deliver presentations;
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with sediment or dredging contaminated materials management;
    • Experience with sediment remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial designs;
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification;
    • Local candidates preferred.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, Hydrogeology, or related field;
    • At least 10 years of experience in marketing, project management, staff management, and client satisfaction, with business development skills and local market familiarity;
    • Advanced degree may offset experience requirements;
    • Experience with field work;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
    • Self-motivated, leadership skills, team management ability;
    • Excellent communication skills;
    • Ability to travel as needed;
