The Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology (NBMG), Nevada’s State Geological Survey, seeks a part-time student worker to assist in cataloging geologic samples, scanning historical documents, and metadata entry at the Great Basin Science Sample and Records Library (GBSSRL) located at 2175 Raggio Parkway.

Ideal candidates are enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno, can lift 30–50 lbs, and have basic MS Office skills. The role includes data entry, warehouse duties, and occasional pallet jack use.

• Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.
• Candidate must be able to regularly lift and carry loads of 30-50 lbs.
• Candidate must have basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Candidate must have the ability to regularly commute to DRI campus (Raggio Parkway, North Reno).
• Candidate must have clear attention to detail.

Mansioni

• Photograph and document geologic drill core samples.
• Receive training and collect data using a portable laser‑induced breakdown spectrometer (pLIBS).
• Catalog data using MS Excel and various database software.
• Support warehouse tasks for data preservation and important Nevada critical minerals and geothermal resource exploration projects.
• May use pallet jack and other equipment to move heavy loads on and off shelves.
