Job summary

Unity Compass is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join a mission-driven team delivering secure, scalable software for GEOINT operations. You will develop microservices, APIs, and web apps, collaborating with cloud engineers and mission stakeholders to align capabilities with evolving requirements.

You will participate in Agile sprints, implement containerized solutions with Docker/Kubernetes/AWS, and build RESTful APIs and modern UIs using React/Node.js/Flask/Spring Boot.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required per contract.
• BS in CS/Software Eng or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or MS with 2–6 years.
• Proficiency with web technologies and REST APIs.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and government system accreditation (RMF/STIGs).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions for GEOINT mission.
• Participate in agile sprints and contribute to daily stand-ups and planning.
• Build and maintain secure, containerized apps using Docker/Kubernetes/AWS.
• Develop RESTful APIs and modern UIs (React, Node.js, Flask, Spring Boot).
• Collaborate with users and product owners to refine requirements.
• Support DevSecOps pipelines and ensure security/compliance.
• Code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
• Handle prioritized tasks from the product owner.
