  • Experience in GEOINT, mission processing systems, or software development/testing.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Ability to travel approximately one week per month.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph; U.S. citizenship required to obtain clearance.

The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

We are seeking a GEOINT Mission Processing Senior Project Engineer (Senior Project Engineer - Signal and Image Process Engineering) to lead the processing efforts of the GEOINT Systems Support Ground Enterprise team. This team assists the customer in fielding ground mission management, command and control, and mission data processing systems. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding all Aerospace efforts assisting the US Government's next-generation GEOINT mission processing architecture. You will grow and lead a team of approximately 5 PTS to assess current and potential future GEOINT ground processing architectures and facilitate the evolution of GEOINT ground processing capabilities to meet the needs of the evolving mission enterprise.

This is a full-time position based at Westfields in Chantilly, Virginia, which requires 100% onsite work.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Serving as the senior technical advisor to the US Government in acquiring state-of-the-art software applications for GEOINT radar and electro optical mission data processing software applications and services for deployment into a commercial cloud environment
  • Leading teams of Aerospace subject matter experts in maturing new technologies, integrating new systems and sensors, and delivering a resilient, responsive ground architecture
  • Coordinating with enterprise stakeholders to ensure that user needs are properly understood and satisfied
  • Collaborating with an agile team of acquisition professionals and industry software developers to rapidly field new software capabilities in a dynamic mission environment
  • Proactively identifying new technologies and commercially available capabilities for integration into the framework
  • Assisting the US Government in formulating acquisition strategies for achieving its architectural vision through pre-solicitation efforts and source selections to realize best-value solutions
What You Need to be Successful
  • Minimum Requirements for Senior Project Engineer - Signal and Image Process Engineering :
  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) related discipline
  • Ten or more years of applicable experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Experience in one or more of the following domains: mission control or mission processing systems for space systems, geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), US Government acquisitions and/or systems engineering, or software development and testing
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams of engineering professionals
  • Ability to travel approximately one week per month and flex work schedule to accommodate deadlines to support job requirements
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
  • Advanced degree in imaging science, computer science/engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field
  • Experience with agile-based software development, commercial cloud environment, and DevOps pipeline implementation, enterprise software architecting
  • Expertise in radar and/or electro optical remote sensing payloads and systems
  • Prior experience supporting GEOINT mission processing and related efforts

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
