Job summary

The GEOINT History Program Specialist – Mid at NGA is responsible for developing and executing the historical program, from research and writing to curation and operations.

This role supports the operation and maintenance of the NGA history archives and related materials in the Historical Research Center, preserving and communicating NGA’s history to employees and public affairs for internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, Library Science, Museum Studies, Museum Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on museum practice, curation, or history-related positions.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities with editing and proofreading skills.
• Ability to inventory and classify archival materials with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute historical content for internal and external audiences (articles, brochures, social media, podcasts, websites, exhibits).
• Archive processing and metadata entry; collaborate with Records Management and National Archives.
