Student Worker in Geography Department Office
This is a UCA Institutional Work Study in the Geography Department Main office. The Student Work position is primarily responsible for providing office support for the Administrative Assistant, Department Chair, and Faculty in the Geography Department. The student worker will assist department admin and faculty with office operations and tasks as needed. Department student workers are responsible for working 10 hours per week. These hours must be during regular campus operating hours and will ideally align with the normal break hours for the Department Administrator.Under the supervision of the Department of Geography staff, the job candidate will assist administrative staff and faculty with daily office work. The tasks include (but are not limited to) answering phones, scanning documents, filing paperwork, data entry, sorting mail, and running errands to other offices on campus.The best candidates will be motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented. The student worker will interact with visitors to the department and therefore should be able to conduct themselves in a pleasant and professional manner in all circumstances. Should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and familiarity with office operations. Familiarity with GIS is helpful but not required. May be asked to lift boxes.
