Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, is seeking an Associate Director, Geography Lead to oversee day-to-day data-management operations within the assigned geography, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and inspection readiness while supporting regional strategy and resourcing.

You will lead local teams, align with GDMS standards, manage budgets, and collaborate with HR for staffing. The role requires strong communication, strategic planning, and regulatory knowledge, including GCP and 21 CFR Part 11,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science, Management or related field; 8+ years in organizational management in Biopharma or related industry; 2+ years of people management.
Master/Advanced degree with 4+ years in organizational management and 2+ years of people management may be considered

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day data-management execution within the geography; ensure efficiency, quality, compliance, and inspection readiness.
Review and provide input on work performed by direct reports; manage and develop local teams.
Lead recruiting and onboarding, manage budget, and coordinate on-shore/off-shore resources with HR.
Drive adherence to GDMS/GCTO processes and promote standardized, risk-based practices across regions.
