Job summary

Schneider Electric in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a results-driven sales professional to advisor electrical contractors and channel partners, selling LV/MV distribution and related services. The role requires deep electrical distribution knowledge, consultative selling, and strong relationship management.

You will collaborate with internal teams to deliver engineered-to-order solutions, develop growth plans, and drive revenue across market segments in the U.S. base.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant sales experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Business preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
• Advanced experience in electrical distribution or energy management industries preferred.

What Do You Do Every Day?

• Become a trusted advisor with assigned Electrical Contractors, Channel Partners, Consultants, and End Users across several market segments to influence and guide the design of small to large, complex electrical distribution systems in a given territory.
• Solution sales comprised of merchandised (into stock) and Low Voltage Distribution, Medium Voltage, Motor Control, Power Switching, Digital Power, Automation, Services and Power Monitoring engineered-to-order equipment used to distribute, monitor and control a customer’s electrical network.
• Interpret electrical plans, specifications, terms and conditions to develop winning proposals to clientele.
• Drive market strategy and demand generation through multi-layered account plans. Actively engages and manages channel partners to increase likelihood of sales success for Schneider Electric target accounts.
• Exceed sales and profitability metrics to assist in achieving Schneider Electric’s ambitions for growth in assigned market.
• Connect Electrical Contractors and Channel Partners to cutting-edge offers, applications and tools to help them achieve their commercial goals.
• Consult with Channel Management, Branch Management, Outside Salespeople, Quotations, Inside Sales, Contractor, Facility Engineers, Executives, Purchasing, Consulting Engineers, General Contractors, and Design Build Electrical Contractors to bring awareness of Schneider Electric innovations to market.
• Work with internal teams of Inside Sales Specialists, Quotation Specialists, Project managers, Channel Managers, Account Managers, Business Development, Services, Strategic Accounts, Industrial Automation Specialists, Consulting Engineering Specialists, Offer Management, Price Managers, and Supply Chain to deliver solutions that solve customer needs.
• The Individual will assist with the tactical execution of operational plans to drive the enablement of channel partners to realize growth targets by implementing sales plans, national/local promotions, training programs (on-line, self-paced, BOOST, Edge, etc.), and inventory planning. This role helps drive both strategic design and tactical execution of mutual goals.
• Create and develop growth-orientated business plans (JGPA/Targeting) with channel partners for acquisition and existing accounts. Gain agreement, establishing measures of performance to drive mutual accountability.
• Participate in the sales coverage model as well as shaping our distribution channel portfolio to ensure optimal channel coverage to serve.
• Remain current on competitive offers and share insights with Electrical Contractors, Channel Partners, Line of Business and Pricing organizations to develop strategies.
• General understanding of Schneider Electric’s software, cloud analytics and services story for owners as it relates to their own digital and sustainability goals. Engages cross-functional teams for complex software engagements.
• Embody Schneider Electric in the eyes of our customers and channel partners. Share the Schneider Electric brand story to pull through other Schneider Electric technologies and business units.

Who are we looking for? - This job might be for you if:

• 3+ years relevant sales experience preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Business is preferred. A combination of education and/or relevant experience will be considered.
• Advanced experience in electrical distribution or energy management industries preferred.
• Advanced experience executive relationship building.
• Experience with any of the following: low voltage electrical distribution, medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, automation, controls, or energy management technologies. Familiarity with Power Distribution Equipment such as busway, panelboards, transformers, switchboards, electrical components, surge protective devices, paralleling switchgear, automation, services, and software preferred.
• Advanced experience with consultative sales methodologies.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 115,200 - USD 172,800 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
