American Modern, a subsidiary of Munich Re, invites you to join its 2027 GIS Internship program in Amelia, Ohio. You will engage in geospatial analysis, data development, and documentation to support portfolio and risk work.

The role blends hands-on GIS with software development and formal documentation, offering exposure to a global reinsurance organization. You will gain practical experience with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Python, and SQL, while collaborating with mentors and leaders to deliver

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a GIS focus.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program.
• Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Create manufactured home park data using ArcGIS Pro and Python.
• Research and develop solutions using the ArcGIS API.
• Support ArcGIS Server updates using ArcGIS Pro and Python.
• Contribute to QGIS development and process documentation.
• Assist portfolio management projects using Python, SQL Developer, and Microsoft Office.

Your Opportunity

What You'll Do:

Qualifications:

• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program
• Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office
• Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects
